This past weekend, Suzanne and I had the pleasure of shooting the wedding of Pam & Bill Koch at Club Med. It was really nice to be back at Club Med for a wedding and brought back all sorts of memories. I shot my 1st Club Med wedding back in the 1990's and have done hundreds of wedding there but in recent years, Club Med's management has restricted local events concentrating on the destination wedding market instead. Anyway, this was destined to be a great day and it was indeed because the ceremony was held in the wedding gazebo and reception in the Florida Ballroom. Maria Bordonaro and her crew did an outstanding job of decorating the room which was engulfed in a sea of red. The wedding began under clear but HOT skies on this late July evening as Bill and his groomsmen waited for Pam under the gazebo.
Pam's bridesmaids looked great in their red gowns as they came down the aisle and then it was Pam''s turn. Wow, the look on Bill's face says it all! Pam's dress was fantastic with matching red accents to match her bridesmaids. The officiant continued with the ceremony as they incorporated traditional Jewish elements into their ceremony, including Pam walking around her groom seven times. After the exchange of rings (or should I say ring) and vows, Bill concluded the ceremony with the breaking of the glass as all the guests shouted out, "Malzel Tov!" Then it off for a round of fantastic photos by Suzanne as the bridal party posed and had fun at a variety of photo stops around the grounds of Club Med.
What a great group as the photos will attest to. After the last of the romantic photos with the bride and groom (is there ever a last photo?) Pam and Bill got ready for their reception in the Florida Ballroom.
The reception began with the introduction of the bridal party and then as Pam & Bill entered the room and stepped onto the dance floor, they were greeted by a confetti cannon. After a heartfelt toast by the Best Man and Maid of Honor, a delicious dinner was served. Of course dinner would not be complete without dessert and guests were treated to a magnificent chocolate fountain with lots of goodies to satisfy their sweet tooth until the cake was cut and served. The night continued with everyone on the dance floor as the DJ played on until the last dance. To end the evening, guests were escorted out onto the Spanish Patio and given sparklers to hoist into the air to salute the new bride & groom. It was a great night for us and Suzanne and I were thrilled to have had the opportunity to capture this fantastic event.
