Andrea & Larry at Santa Lucia River Club

Last weekend Suzanne and I had the extreme pleasure of capturing the wedding of Andrea and Larry at The Santa Lucia River Club.  What made this wedding so special is that we have known Andrea for more than 10 years as she works part time as the floor captain at Santa Lucia.  Andrea and I have worked hundreds of wedding together over the years and seen it all!  Andrea promised me from the very beginning that she was not going to be a bridezilla like many of the brides we have seen in the past.  I was honored that of all of the photographers that she has seen over the years, she choose us to capture her special day.  In fact, more wedding professionals, wedding vendors, DJ's, caterers, and other people in the wedding industry have chosen Memories by Mark over all others as their photographer because they know us, our photos, and our work ethic.
The day started with an 80% chance of rain and everyone had their fingers crossed at  The Holiday Inn where Andrea had almost an entire floor reserved for her wedding party and guests.  After I came into the room, I noticed how calm Andrea was and remained that way the entire day.  I only wish she could give some of her poise and calmness to my other brides this year.  "Shoes, Mark make sure you get a photo of my shoes", Andrea said and boy were her shoes cool with the secret "I Do" on the bottoms.  Her mermaid styled wedding dress looked as if it was handmade for her as it fit perfectly and looked gorgeous on her.  Of course the kids were running around during this whole process except for the littlest one who found a comfy spot and decided right then and there it was nap time!  Soon it was off to the church in a custom stretch Hummer Limousine with all of the girls and I even decided to ride along with them to capture the fun of the ride.

During this time, Suzanne was at The Soarin Faith Ministry Church in Rio, capturing all of the decorations and of course Larry and the rest of his guys.  Larry is one of the classiest guys you will ever meet and you can sense is goodness after being around him for just a little while.  Suzanne and the guys went through a photo session outside before the limo arrived and they were rushed off into the church, which was packed with all of their friends and family.  The ceremony began with a dash of humor as the littlest one carried a sign that said it was Larry's last chance to run!

Then Andrea came into the church and the crowd took a collective deep breath as they saw Andrea for the first time in her dress.  Andrea and her father made it up the aisle (a little nervously) to meet her future husband.  The ceremony went off without a hitch and after the bride and groom made it down the aisle it was time for photos while the guests made their way to The Santa Lucia River Club (Ballantrae CC) for the reception.

Andrea's colors were silver and black and the venue looked great.  There was a wishing tree as guests came in so they could leave comments to the newlyweds and of course a candy bar to satisfy any sweet tooth. After just a few more photos (we always have just a few more photos to take) the bride and groom entered the reception and the party began.  After a fantastic dinner by the staff at Santa Lucia, the order of the night was dancing and partying.  Soon it was time to cut the cake and both the bride and groom decided to feed each other sweetly instead of smashing cake in each other's faces (never recommended). After cake it was the garter and bouquet toss, the Conga, and more dancing.  Although the threat of rain was 80% today, it never did rain, that is until the end of the reception when it began to pour from the heavens and never stopped.  Lucky it held off for their special goodbye sparkler photos! It was a joy to shoot this event and hope all of Andrea and Larry's friends and family enjoy our work.
Since 1985 Memories by Mark has been providing award winning photography, videography, photo booth rentals, and event up lighting.  We have a package to fit every budget and every circumstance.  Don't trust your memories on an unknown, unlicensed, uninsured photographer that had a cheap price on Craig's List!  You do not have a second chance to get your wedding memories captured correctly nor is a family friend or relative that has a camera qualified to shoot your wedding.  It really makes no sense to spend thousands of dollars on a wedding and then not photograph and/or videotape the event correctly. You cannot compare the price of photography to a cake or limo as those are just a one time, one use portion of your wedding.  Your photos and videos will last a lifetime so call us today at (772) 466-5747 to find out how affordable our rates are to have a lifetime of....Memories......by Mark!

Keiser University 2012 Graduation

www.memoriesbymark.com

Last Friday, June 15, 2012, Memories by Mark was again selected to photograph the Keiser University graduation from their Port St. Lucie campus.  This was our 7th year covering this event which has grown from humble beginnings at The Grace Place down  in Stuart to the Port St. Lucie Civic Center.  The night began as Mr. John Hooker assembled the graduates at the Civic Center for instructions and practice.  During this time, Memories by Mark was tasked to capture a portrait of each graduate.  This year we decided to bring our mobile photo studio set up with us complete with a new, custom made backdrop that looked fantastic.  Several of the students and staff commented on how great the new backdrop looked.  After a practice with the graduates, the stage was set as the Civic Center was filled to capacity with not a single seat empty.  The pomp and circumstance music filled the air as the graduates filed into the hall in front of hundreds of friends and family. No matter how many graduations I have attended (quite a lot over 20 years) I still am in awe of the pride and happiness that happens each time.  This year's commencement speaker was Rep. Gayle Harrell from Stuart.  Ms. Harrell gave an inspirational speech to the graduates, praising them on earning college degrees while working and raising families.  She even reflected on her own journey of her college experience while married raising children.  Many of the students commented on how they were moved by her speech and how they felt she was talking directly to them!
Next, the fun began as Mr. Hooker called off the names of each graduate while College President Dr. Thomas Creola handed them their diplomas. After receiving their diploma, each student posed for an "official" diploma photograph with Rep. Harrell before making their way off stage.  Of course it is every graduates fear that they will fall in front of everyone but I am glad to report that everyone made it on and off the stage without any incidents.

Lastly, Dr. Creola conferred the graduates status and many in the crowd tossed their caps into the air with uncontrolled happiness! I hope everyone got their cap back.  The graduates then filed out of the Civic Center into the arms of their loving families who were on hand to witness the occasion.  Smiles were the order of the night and we were mobbed with families asking us to take a group photo with their graduate before most of the crowd drifted out of the Civic Center off to dinner somewhere while some students lingered, savoring this special moment in their lives.  Memories by Mark is honored to have captured this event again and strives each year to increase our expectations.  We hope you enjoy your complimentary  photos from Keiser University and have made arrangements for you to purchase additional copies and enlargements at a reasonable price.  All photo orders are through our website ONLY and if you are having difficulties, please email us at mark@memmoriesbymark.com

Amber & Josh at Quail Valley CC

Last Saturday was again a busy day as Memories by Mark was involved with 4 events across the Treasure Coast including a big preparty for this week's Keiser University graduation which takes place on Friday.  We provided the up lighting for 2 wedding receptions and photo booths for 2 weddings.  As you may or may not know, the photo booth is THE hottest trend right now and guaranteed to be the hit of any event.  Memories by Mark has a fleet of 3 local photo booths that can be dispatched in minutes to anywhere on the Space, Treasure and Palm Beach Coasts. Our unique up lighting can transform the plainest room into a beautiful sea of coordinated light.  The big event of this past weekend was the wedding of Amber and Josh at Quail Valley Country Club.  Nestled away in northern Indian River County, Quail Valley Country Club is a beautiful facility that abounds with examples of native wildlife throughout the facility.  It is almost like a cross between a country club and and hunting lodge with beautiful elegance and dark rich woods.  Amber's wedding began on the golf course with clear but threatening skies.  The western sky was dark and brooding and you just knew that an afternoon thunderstorm was coming.  The ceremony actually began a few minutes early just to be sure that the ceremony was completed before the rains came.  After the ceremony, guests were treated to a great cocktail hour on the back veranda with plenty of food and drink.  Amber also hosted a candy and cooking bar and later on, guests were served from the unique cupcake tree that had been assembled in the foyer.  During dinner the storm came with full force and heavy rains and winds but by that time, everyone was inside  enjoying a fantastic meal.
The photo booth was almost non stop most of the evening and it seems like Grandma was the big hit of the booth as everyone wanted to grab a prop and pose with her! It was a great wedding and Amber really planned every detail.  Although she was initially hesitant about the photo booth she now knows why we at Memories by Mark are so adamant about how much fun these booths are as they were THE hit of her event.
