Pam and William at Club Med

This past weekend, Suzanne and I had the pleasure of shooting the wedding of Pam & Bill Koch at Club Med.  It was really nice to be back at Club Med for a wedding and brought back all sorts of memories.  I shot my 1st Club Med wedding back in the 1990's and have done hundreds of wedding there but in recent years, Club Med's management has restricted local events concentrating on the destination wedding market instead.  Anyway, this was destined to be a great day and it was indeed because the ceremony was held in the wedding gazebo and reception in the Florida Ballroom.  Maria Bordonaro and her crew did an outstanding job of decorating the room which was engulfed in a sea of red.  The wedding began under clear but HOT skies on this late July evening as Bill and his groomsmen waited for Pam under the gazebo.
Pam's bridesmaids looked great in their red gowns as they came down the aisle and then it was Pam''s turn.  Wow, the look on Bill's face says it all!  Pam's dress was fantastic with matching red accents to match her bridesmaids.  The officiant continued with the ceremony as they incorporated traditional Jewish elements into their ceremony, including Pam walking around her groom  seven times.  After the exchange of rings (or should I say ring) and vows, Bill concluded the ceremony with the breaking of the glass as all the guests shouted out, "Malzel Tov!"  Then it off for a round of fantastic photos by Suzanne as the bridal party posed and had fun at a variety of photo stops around the grounds of Club Med.
What a great group as the photos will attest to.  After the last of the romantic photos with the bride and groom (is there ever a last photo?) Pam and Bill got ready for their reception in the Florida Ballroom.
The reception began with the introduction of the bridal party and then as Pam & Bill entered the room and stepped onto the dance floor, they were greeted by a confetti cannon. After a heartfelt toast by the Best Man and Maid of Honor, a delicious dinner was served. Of course dinner would not be complete without dessert and guests were treated to a magnificent chocolate fountain with lots of goodies to satisfy their sweet tooth until the cake was cut and served.  The night continued with everyone on the dance floor as the DJ played on until the last dance.  To end the evening, guests were escorted out onto the Spanish Patio and given sparklers to hoist into the air to salute the new bride & groom.  It was a great night for us and Suzanne and I were thrilled to have had the opportunity to capture this fantastic event.
Since 1985 Memories by Mark has been providing award winning photography, videography, photo booth rentals, and event up lighting.  We have a package to fit every budget and every circumstance.  Don't trust your memories on an unknown, unlicensed, uninsured photographer that had a cheap price on Craig's List!  You do not have a second chance to get your wedding memories captured correctly nor is a family friend or relative that has a camera qualified to shoot your wedding.  It takes years of experience and hundreds of weddings to get results like this.  It really makes no sense to spend thousands of dollars on a wedding and then not photograph and/or videotape the event correctly. You cannot compare the price of photography to a cake or limo as those are just a one time, one use portion of your wedding.  Your photos and videos will last a lifetime so call us today at (772) 466-5747 to find out how affordable our rates are to have a lifetime of....Memories......by Mark!

Samantha and Dale at Creative Catering

www.memoriesbymark.com
The past weekend's rains finally stopped in time for the renewal of vows for a great couple, Samantha and Dale Lowe.  It was a renewal of vows for the couple's 25th anniversary, a rarity these days!  The back story of this event is unique in that back in 1987, these two kids loved each other but circumstances were such that a big wedding was out of the question.  So Samantha and Dale along with two others went to the old downtown Ft.Pierce Courthouse and got married in the gazebo that was in the front of the courthouse.  The only problem was that at that time, The St. Lucie County Jail was attached to the old courthouse so as their ceremony was taking place, several of the prisoners whose cells faced the street began yelling out to the couple.   Not exactly a storybook wedding!

But as time went by, Samantha always dreamed about that fairy tale wedding she never got and so made a deal with her parents that if she was married for 25 years, they would pay for that dream to come true.  As all of you parents know, kids never forget and so after 25 years of dreaming to have the wedding with the man of her dreams, it all came true on July 14, 2012 at Creative Catering's facility at The Springhill Suite Hotel in St. Lucie West.

Samantha looked like a high end bridal model when we saw her for the first time as she glowed with happiness all day.  Even the rainy weather would not dampen her spirits or those of her husband, Dale. The ceremony took place at the Chapel of Love at The Springhill and afterwards Suzanne took the bridal party for photos while guests had a cocktail hour in the foyer.  Paul, from Memories by Mark was the videographer at this event while I was the DJ!  Talk about one stop shopping!  It just makes so much sense to hire one company for your photos, video and DJ that way everyone works together to make the event successful. Of course we also offer the photo booth rental as well as event up lighting.

I introduced the "newlyweds" into the reception and they had the special dance together and were later joined in by the bridal party.  Karyn and her staff at Creative Catering served their usual outstanding dinner prepared by Chef Andrew to the delight of the guests.  After dinner is was party, party, party and I don't think that the bride was off the dance floor for more than 10 minutes the entire night. It was full stream ahead as the party continued to 10 o'clock with the dance floor still rocking out to the tunes of DJ Mark.  The couple headed off to the hotel tired but filled with joy that their dream of a perfect wedding came true thanks to Karyn, her staff and the entire staff from Memories by Mark.

Christina & Alex at Creative Catering

Last Saturday we photographed the wedding of Christina & Alex Montanez.  The day started off at the bride's house where she was a cool as a cucumber amidst all of the usual drama. Christina was a great bride to work with, very calm and classy.  It was off to the church which was just around the corner from the bride's house.  There, the groom, Alex, waited patiently with his friends and family.  The limo arrived and Christina and her bridal party exited and got ready for their entrance.  With their friends and family watching, the bride and groom exchanged vows, rings, and had a sand ceremony before they were pronounced man and wife.  After the ceremony, they were greeted to a bubble exit out of the church on the way to their reception at Creative Catering at the Springhill Suites Hotel in St. Lucie West.

Before the reception, I had them make a slight detour over to Tradition where we had a great photo session.  Luckily, there had been a wedding done before we arrived and everyone had already left for that reception which gave us Tradition all to ourselves. After a hot but satisfying photo session it was off to the reception where the guests had already assembled after the wedding.  During the cocktail hour, guests enjoyed the famous hospitality of Karyn and her staff while cooling off with a drink and having fun in the photo booth.  The photo booth continues to be the hit of every reception and party and Memories by Mark can work with any bride of client to make the photo booth affordable on any budget.

DJ Louie G provided the fantastic sounds of the night and introduced the bride and groom to begin the night's activities.  After the customary dances and toasts, dinner was served. YUM!  I always look forward to the food prepared by Chef Andrew and his staff.  After dinner if was dance, dance, and more dancing and everyone joined in the festivities.
After cake, garter and bouquet it was a solid party until the very end! Between the dancing and the photo booth, both were packed all night long.  Alex is a Marine serving our country and Memories by Mark salute him and his family for their sacrifices while defending our country.  God bless you both and keep you from harm's way!

Florida Catholic Newspaper

As many of my long time readers know already, in my spare time I am also a  reporter/photographer for the Florida Catholic newspaper.  This is a state-wide newspaper that reports on the various activities at local Catholic parishes.  I have a four county area that includes Martin, St. Lucie, Indian River and Okeechobee counties.

From time to time I get an assignment to photograph and report on and this week it was a visit by Bishop Gerald Barbarrito to St. Andrews Parish in Stuart.  Located on Cove Road in south Stuart, St. Andrews is the newest church in that area and in fact, Memories by Mark had the honor of photographing the very 1st wedding ever to occur in that church almost 9 years ago.  The Bishop was coming to

St. Andrews to thank the good people for their contributions which resulted in a pro-life billboard installed on church property along Cove Road.  The Bishop celebrated Mass and then afterwards, walked over to the sign and blessed it with Holy Water.  The sign carries the Bishop's message that all life is precious and that the billboard was not just for Catholics but for all who travel on that road to remind them of that fact.  I have photographed numerous events with the Bishop in our area and I can tell you that he is a very sincere, warm, and spiritual man who has given his life to God in the service to others.

Reilly Family Reunion at Club Med

www.memoriesbymark.com

Last Monday, Memories by Mark was hired to photograph the family reunion of the Reilly family at Club Med in Port St. Lucie.  It was a typical family reunion of about 30 people including mom & dad and their children, spouses,  grand kids and other family members. The Reilly clan was great to work for and I was able to capture some awesome memories for them.  At memories by Mark, our family reunion photo session includes not only the big group shot of everyone, it also comes with individual family portraits and all families get their own photo cd and release of copyright so that when they get back home, they can post their photos to Facebook, their computers, print and enlarge whatever they want.  Not only do they have their family, they also have everyone;s photos so the entire family has images of each other.

Many a Christmas card has been made using our photos of the family.  Memories by Mark makes it very affordable for families to capture special moments.  It makes no sense for everyone to take a vacation and be together and not take quality, professional photographs of the group.

Sharon & William at Renegade's Night Club

Last Saturday was another busy summer Saturday for Memories by Mark as we had two photo booth rentals, an event uplighting package in Stuart, and my event of the summer as I photographed the wedding of Sharon and William in West Palm Beach.  Although the couple reside in Port St. Lucie, they absolutely had to have Memories by Mark as their photographer as I was excited from the very beginning to work this event.  It proved to be very challenging  and exciting at the same time.  The day began bright and early at 9:00 am at the Hyatt Hotel in downtown West Palm Beach where the bride and her girls were getting ready.  After getting all that I could at the hotel, it was a quick walk down the street to the campus of Palm Beach Atlantic University where the ceremony was going to take place at the Desantis Family Chapel.  Wow, what a beautiful chapel.  Polished marble throughout the entire building and although it was built in 2003, it had a much older, stately feel to it.  Shortly after arriving, the groom and his guys arrived and we got a few quick photos before the bride arrived.

The ceremony was moving as the piano player played the wedding march and then, there she was!  Sharon entered the chapel with her father in arm and she looked stunning.  Of course everyone commented on her stylish white wedding cowboy boots! The ceremony continued and later one of the bridesmaids sang a solo to the bride and groom (American Idol here we come).  After the ceremony we were able to capture some great photos on the grounds of the university before we left for the reception at Renegade's Night Club.

Located on Village Blvd, Renegades is THE premier country western club in the Palm Beaches.  It was clear from the minute you walked in the door that some serious decorating has been taking place here.  Wow, Sharon and her friends spent countless hours making decorations and arranging them to turn Renegade's into a beautiful country chic reception venue.  I have never seen such effort and after shooting more than 2,000 weddings (I know, that's a lot of weddings) this one took the prize for best country chic decorating.  Of special note was there entrance sign which directed everyone to all of the activities.

After the introductions by the DJ, the couple danced their 1st dance as man and wife followed by their parent's dances and the toasts by the Best man and Maid of Honor.  After a fantastic dinner, guests were treated to line dance instructions where they learned the latest country dance moves and then it was the moment everyone was waiting for.  The mechanical bull riding contest! Yes, you read that correctly, a mechanical bull riding contest that featured the bride riding the bull!!!  Both Sharon and William not only rode the bull but later in the day they rode the bull together.  Be sure to log onto the website to see everyone attempts to go 8 seconds!

The reception came to a close as the country music faded into the background while the bride and groom made their goodbyes to their guests.  It was a fantastic wedding and one I will never forget.  This couple was a delight to work with and I wish them all of the happiness in the world as they begin a new chapter in their lives.

Kelly & Tyeler at St. Mary's Church

As I said before, the weekend of 6/30/12 was a very busy weekend.  Last Saturday I was in West Palm Beach shooting a wedding, we had a photo booth rental for a Sweet 16 party in Port St. Lucie, and another photo booth rental, this time for the wedding of Kelly and Tyeler at the St. Mary's center in Stuart. In addition to the photo booth, Memories by Mark provided all of the uplighting for the reception.

The bride accented her reception venue with lime green lights throughout St. Mary's hall and it looked stunning!  It is amazing how uplighting can turn anyplace into a sea of color.  Memories by Mark can light any event, big or small, with custom colored uplighting at a very reasonable price.  Don't trust just anybody to do your lighting, call the photo professionals who know color and lighting.
We can create a lighting package for any budget and remember, we always give a discount if you order a lighting package with your photo or video contract.  The more services we provide, the greater the savings!
